Give a Good Powerpoint Presentation:
Speak up. Talk as though the audience was sitting in the back of the room.
Make eye contact with your audience.
Talk to level of your audience.
Relax. Be yourself.
Make sure your Powerpoint screen is attractive and meaningful.
Use charts, graphics, and appropriate photos to illustrate your points.
Stay on your subject matter.
Make the length appropriate for your audience.
Do some practice runs. Even better, practice in front of a mirror.
Give a Terrible Powerpoint Presentation:
Mumble. Drop your voice at the end of every sentence. Better yet, drone on in a monotone. That way your audience can have a great nap.
Stammer. Use lots of "um's" and "uh's" to keep your audience's interest.
Look at your screen. Turn your back on your audience.
Tease your audience by covering up parts of what is on your screen. If all else fails, stand in front of the projector.
Read what is on your Powerpoint screen to your audience. Give it that extra "oomph" by speaking only what is on the screen, with no additional commentary.
Use startling colors, clip art that you just happen to like, and small fonts that no one can see.
Add in as much extraneous material as you can think of. Everyone loves rabbit trails, right?
