Our History
Raising your kids to be responsible adults is no small endeavor. As Pam Hausner and Ruth Ellen Packett
approached the end of their child-rearing years, they knew it was time to tackle a
lesser project…like starting a new business venture.
With Pam's background in art and Ruth Ellen's background in computers and programming,
they began making sites for volunteer organizations and causes they wanted to support.
Applying their resource and learning skills developed after many years of home schooling,
they dug into the "new media" with unfettered gusto. Having always held a high standard for
excellence in the education of their children, they maintain the same quality standard for their own pursuits.
After years creating outstanding volunteer websites, they were appalled at the poor quality
of so many business websites. It didn't take rocket science to figure out they could use their
skills to help small businesses. So in June 2001, Big Vision Design, LLC was founded (formerly Oberon Web Design).
Today, more than 50 websites later, Pam and Ruth Ellen are enjoying the growth of their company and delight
in the successes of their clients.
Their skills include certification in HTML 4.0, CSS2, PHP4, JavaScript, Dynamic HTML, Internet Concepts, Internet Industry Knowledge, Web Design Concepts, E-commerce Concepts,
and Macromedia Flash MX as well as a proficiency in a wide variety of
software programs including Adobe Photoshop.
In spring 2004, after careful screening, Big Vision Design added two more top industry professionals who share our commitment to excellence. Their design and programming skills allow Pam the freedom to pursue marketing the company while Ruth Ellen's relentless study has clearly placed her as one of Kansas City's top internet specialists. Pam's husband, Carl, gives outstanding technical support to the company as well as many of their clients. By merging the talents of each of these skilled professionals, Big Vision Design, LLC is able to offer comprehensive web development services with an uncompromising commitment to quality and client relationships.

The Kansas City Small Business Development Center (SBDC) asked Big Vision Design to represent them in Jefferson City on February 10, 2005 as their
Showcase Client. Pam and Ruth Ellen were thrilled to be there with a number of other small business owners from across the state.
Big Vision Design received awards for entrepreneurialship and contribution to the economic development of Missouri. They also were presented with a Resolution from the Missouri Senate recognizing their achievements.
Big Vision Design is grateful to the SBDC for all their help and support. They have been a valuable resource for business development.
